167: Pull a tarot card or share other "witchy" content this week {Writing Prompt}
Writing prompts for the Halloween or spooky season
Halloween is just days away, and if you're anything like me, you've been diving deep into longer-form content creation lately. But sometimes, the best content comes from taking a completely different direction.
That's exactly what I'm doing in this week's episode of the Ill Communication Podcast. Instead of another heavy strategy session, I'm serving up something sweet and short—perfectly timed for the season.
The magic of seasonal content
Here's an out-of-the-box idea you can throw into your content mix today, tomorrow, or keep in your back pocket for another time of year: pull a tarot card or share some other witchy seasonal content.
I love this idea of using a tarot card to inspire your content. You can approach this in two ways:
Pull the card for yourself: Meditate on it and let it guide the message you need to share or the kind of content you need to create.
Pull the card for your audience: Share that tarot card with your community and say, "I pulled this message for you."
If tarot isn't your thing, no worries.
Think about other spiritual or seasonal content that feels authentic to you:
A meaningful passage from a spiritual text
A yoga pose or meditation
Even a Bible passage (though that might work better for a different time of year)
Your favorite pumpkin recipe
A picture or story of your favorite childhood costume
A scary business lesson you've learned
Why this works (especially for Premium Service Providers)
Here's what I really want you to focus on: have fun. Show your personality. Bring surprise and delight to your content.
This is often the missing ingredient in our content, even in our authority-building pieces where we're trying to attract premium clients and buyers. So many of us get caught up in showing up polished and professional all the time.
But here's the truth: people buy from people. We want to connect with you on a human level.
Subject line ideas to get you started
If you're writing an email to your list or posting on LinkedIn, here are some simple subject lines that work:
"Pulled a card for you"
"A message for you"
"I had to share this with you"
Simply "Boo"
This type of content is perfect for:
Nurturing your audience
Building know, like, and trust
Social media posts
Email content that stands out
The perfect timing
Nobody wants anything too serious this week anyway. So go ahead and play into the season of Halloween, autumn, or fall—before we dive into the heavy selling of Black Friday and Cyber Monday in just a few weeks.
Your monthly content magic
If you're loving these writing prompts, you're in luck. I share content prompts and copy formulas almost once a month on the podcast, so definitely go back through previous episodes if you're ever stumped.
But here's where the real magic happens: these writing prompts are one of the key features you get when you enroll in my group coaching program, Pivot to Premium.
Every month, I hand-pick premium authority writing prompts that take the thinking out of content creation. No more second-guessing yourself. I give you essentially four weeks of content in a Google Doc—things you can send as emails, LinkedIn posts, or even record as podcast content.
The goal? Build your authority while also building know, like, and trust.
I handpick these prompts, and people absolutely love them. It's so fun to watch someone hear a writing prompt during our monthly call, write it within 20 minutes, get feedback during our coaching session, and then press send.
If that sounds like the kind of marketing magic you could use in your life, jump into Pivot to Premium and get four fresh premium content prompts delivered to you each month. It makes writing, marketing, and messaging so much easier.
Take action this week

[00:00:52] Hello there and welcome back to this episode of the Ill Communication Podcast. And today I'm taking things in a different direction. Uh, over the last several weeks, I've been diving pretty heavy into some longer form podcast episodes. Today's gonna be a sweet and shorty, and it's perfectly timed for the season.
[00:01:13] Uh, just a couple of days after I record and publish this episode, it will be. Halloween. And so I wanted to share an out of the box, uh, idea for you to create some seasonal content. You can throw this into your mix today, tomorrow, or the next day, or keep it in your back pocket for another time of year when it feels good for you to use.
[00:01:39] So my prompt for this month is to pull. A tarot card or share some other witchy seasonal content. Now, I love this idea of pulling a tarot card to help inspire you with your content. You can use this in a couple of ways. One, you could [00:02:00] pull the tarot card, meditate it on it, and get the message of what you need to share, what kind of content you need to create.
[00:02:10] Or you could pull a tarot card and then send that tarot card to your audience and say, I pulled this message for you. If you are interested or follow tarot, this works really great. If you're not in tarot, I have a couple of different ideas for ya. You could. Think of a spiritual text that's meaningful to you.
[00:02:38] Uh, you could share a yoga pose or a meditation or even a Bible passage if that's more your thing, and that probably works better for maybe a different time of year. Sometimes I like to use this prompt, pul a tarot card or share a passage, uh, in January when people are feeling that sense of renewed energy.
[00:02:58] Forward thinking, looking ahead, and sometimes it's nice to have something like that to meditate on. But for this month here in October of 2025, I'm inviting you to use the tarot card for, uh, to tie into the season of Halloween and have some fun with it.
[00:03:21] So use the tarot card again to find the message that you should share or share the tarot card with your audience as a message they need to hear and interpret for themselves. Uh, if tarot is not your thing, but it's still, you're still into Halloween, think of other seasonal content to share your favorite pumpkin recipe, a picture or a story of your favorite.
[00:03:44] A childhood costume or a scary business lesson. What I want you to do is have fun. Have fun in your content, show your personality, bring a little surprise and delight, and this is often a [00:04:00] missing ingredient in a. Our content, even in our authority content where we're trying to attract premium clients, uh, and buyers.
[00:04:08] A lot of us are still so focused on, like showing up very polished and profess, but people buy from people. And we wanna connect to you on a human level. So share some of this surprise and delight content. Uh. I have some subject line ideas for you, or maybe these would work as a headline, but very simply, if you're writing an email to your list or even posting this on LinkedIn, a great subject line would be pulled a card for you or a message for you, or I had to share this with you or simply Boo.
[00:04:47] It's great for nurturing, for building know, like, and trust. It's great social media content, good for emails. I just really want you to have fun with it. Deliver value, entertain, and tap into the seasonality. Nobody wants anything too serious this week anyway, so go ahead and play into the season of Halloween or Autumn or fall before we get into the real heavy.
[00:05:14] Selling of Black Friday, cyber Monday in just a few weeks. If you enjoy some of these writing prompts, you can go back through the podcast episodes. I share writing prompts and copy formulas almost once a month. Um, so definitely go back and find some other writing prompts if you're ever stumped. But these writing prompts are one of the.
[00:05:42] Features that you get when you enroll in my group coaching program, pivot to Premium. Every month I have hand picked premium authority writing prompts to take the thinking out, to stop the second guessing and [00:06:00] give you essentially four weeks of content in a Google Doc. These are would be things that you could send as emails, as LinkedIn post.
[00:06:09] You could record them as podcast content, anything to build your authority, but also to build, know, like, and trust. I handpick these people love them. It's so fun to watch someone hear, uh, a writing prompt for the month and then write it within 20 minutes. We review it during our coaching call and then they press send.
[00:06:31] So if that sounds. You could use a little bit of that in your life. Uh, it's a little bit of magic, uh, marketing magic, let's say. Uh, please jump into pivot to premium and get four fresh premium content prompts to use in your business, uh, to help make. Writing and marketing and messaging even easier.
