Hello, hello and welcome back to the Ill Communication Podcast. I gotta ask, how is spring going for you? Everyone I know is being like, quite literally run off their feet. Not only is there a lot going on in the world, there's also a lot going on in our lives. Which is why over the last four weeks or so, I've been sharing one minute messaging magic episodes to share a quick and easy tip or strategy, or a couple of them you can implement that will create a powerful result for your marketing and business. Make sure you go back and binge episodes 141, 142, and 143 to get a toolkit of tips you can follow to boost the impact of your marketing in less time when everyone's all so busy and distracted. When you follow these micro tips, your messaging, marketing and sales channels will become more effective.

Okay, so here's today's micro marketing tip. Make it easy for people to learn about, share about, and buy your offers. And this tip is inspired by a real life exchange I had with a past client and a peer colleague She's launching a new masterclass that will lead people into one of her signature offers. She reached out to me a couple weeks ago to ask if I'd be an affiliate or a promotional partner for her. Now, I don't have the capacity right now to be a full on partner, but I offered to reshare any posts she made on social media to my audience to amplify her offer. So the first few posts she shared were lovely and very on brand for her. They were very personal, very story driven. But instead of sharing any information about the event or a link to the event page or the name of the workshop, or when it is or where it is, her call to action was comment workshop in the comments and she'd send the information over. Now, I'm sure you've seen this strategy used on Instagram and on LinkedIn, where you ask your audience to drop a comment or an emoji, and then you follow up with them in the DMs. People are using it because there's a general agreement that Instagram and LinkedIn shadow ban content that has external links in it, and it makes sense. They don't want you to leave the platform. So if you share content with an external link, it will probably deprioritize your post and show it to fewer people.
[00:03:25]
Plus, when you use the comment a word strategy, you can automate the follow up with Manychat and other messaging automation tools. It's pretty slick and easy for the business owner, but from a user's perspective, it's kind of terrible. I've been on the receiving end of Manychat automations gone wrong, where you're caught in an endless loop of commenting, opting in, and never actually getting the thing you wanted. Making people drop a comment adds several additional steps to your user or buyer, which can build in friction. Now, I'm not saying not to use the comment Manychat automations. They're very popular and useful for a reason, but I don't want you to exclusively use that strategy because some of us do not want to go through an automation. Some of us want to quietly lurk and check out your offer. Some of us want to refer you offer to our communities, but without an actual link to share or a different style of post, it becomes impossible to spread the word. And the coach who inspired me to create this episode is not the only business owner I've had this struggle with. Several of my mentors and coaches are great at creating stories to promote their offer, but I can't easily share a story to recommend your offer because your story expires in 24 hours, and some of the reels people use to promote their offers just aren't as effective for me to share to my audience.
[00:04:59]
When I want to share an amazing offer, I want it to be easy to do. I want it to be simple to explain and easy for my audience to understand. So what I've suggested to this business owner and several in the past, is to create a simple feed post announcing your offer. Whether it's an event, a masterclass, or your paid signature offer. These announcement posts can be pinned to your Instagram grid, and they can become a featured post on LinkedIn and in the graphic. You can include a link to get more information or indicate the link to find out more is in your profile. Just because you may get shadow banned by using links in your content doesn't mean you shouldn't share links at all. And even though the Manychat automations are useful and can be effective, it doesn't mean you should forget about the basic principles of marketing and have a good old announcement post that sells the offer and gives the link to anyone who wants to check it out. Not everyone wants to comment or reach out in the DMs, and your marketing and promotions should appeal to all types of lurkers, learners and buyers. So here are five often overlooked and free ways you can promote your offers. These are dead simple, easy to do in just a matter of minutes. Number one create a feed announcement post and pin it to the top of your grid or your featured sections.
[00:06:28]
These posts are easy for you to share and reshare, and easy for others to share for you. If you're creating stories, you can always link to the content on that platform or tell people to check out the pinned post or the first post in your featured section. Two leverage the event features on your social media platforms. Create an event on LinkedIn or Facebook, which then gets pushed to your followers and is easily shared. It just takes a few minutes to create an event, and it can be a great tool which most people overlook. Three put your event on Eventbrite. Eventbrite now offers free posting and it reaches a totally different audience and can be very effective. I've experimented with it and I will continue to post free events on Eventbrite for update your social media banners when you're promoting something. Create new banner graphics for YouTube, LinkedIn, or Facebook that promote your offer and display a short link like. For more information, visit Serve Scale Soar. This is free and underutilized marketing real estate. Don't sleep on that one. Five. Update the promo bar or pop up on your website to promote your upcoming event or offer. Now, full disclosure I often forget about this feature, but it can be very effective because it's the first thing someone sees when they land on your site. And number six, make sure you add the links to events or offers you're promoting into your bio.
[00:08:01]
That way, even if you don't mention there's a link in your bio, anyone who comes to snoop your profile will find the link and they'll be able to go explore your offer. And this works for LinkedIn, YouTube or Instagram. Sometimes in our pursuit to hack or outsmart the algorithm, we forget some of the basics of marketing and buyer psychology. You might be unintentionally making it harder for your audience to get the information they need to enroll themselves into your offer. When you add in additional steps like drop a word into the comments and I'll DM you the info, you could create more friction for your buyer, which might cause them to bounce. Now, I'm not saying to stop creating story driven content with a subtle call to action. I'm not saying to stop using tools like Manychat automations or story features, but what I am saying is, don't forget to create simple, shareable content and links that make it easy for people to learn, share about, and buy your offer. And that's your one minute messaging magic tip for today. Make it easy for people to find about your offer and share it with these six often overlooked marketing strategies one. Create a basic event or offer announcement post to add your events to LinkedIn or Facebook three use Eventbrite for update your social media banners five add your offers and events to the promo bar or pop ups on your website, and six make sure you add your offers and events to the links in your profile.
